We have had a lot of people in our community ask how to disable Places.  So we decided to create a step by step video showing you how to disable this feature. Although Facebook marketing may sound easy, still there are several important things that must be considered if you want your Facebook marketing to succeed and effectively draw in visitors to your business.</p>
<p>One of the factors to consider when using Facebook marketing is the utilization of a personal profile compared to using a Facebook Fan Page or Facebook Business Page. More often than not, small business owners who are yet to launch their online business often opt to use a personal profile as their business page.</p>
<p>The truth is that there are lots of disadvantages to using your profile page as the landing page in your Facebook marketing approach.  Think about this for a minute “Who is really going to take your business for real if they are landing on your profile page?” Once they land on the profile they can’t even leave a message on your wall until you accept them as a friend. When you try to use your personal profile as your business page, viewers may think that the services or products you are offering are part of a scam. Also, when using your personal profile, you have to remember that you cannot just add anyone because your request will still be subjected to the approval of that particular person. Will they really want to add you as a friend? Only after they accept your invitation to be friends would you have any chance of selling your products or services.  If you have already spent any amount of time on Facebook profile you know people don’t just want selling they want connections.</p>
<p>If you want to start your Facebook marketing it is recommended that you use a Facebook Fan (Business) Page like most experienced online business owners. If you have your own business page, the chances are high that viewers will treat your business seriously, thus making your Facebook marketing an effective strategy to improve your online presence. <p>Creating a video is only half the battle when it comes to marketing online. To really be successful, you want the video to go viral – and that’s where it gets a bit harder because you have to raise awareness about your video and then maintain an interest in it so that viewers feel like sharing it.</p>
<p>Here are five tips on helping your video go viral in the marketplace:</p>
<p><strong>1.) Allowing embed features </strong></p>
<p>Some marketers make the big mistake of not allowing anyone to embed their videos from YouTube to their own site. You’re preventing your video form going viral because you’re limiting the sharing features available to you.</p>
<p>Not everyone wants to simply cut and paste a link. They want to keep people on their own domain watching the video, and letting them embed it gives you both perks – because you get the branding on someone else’s website and get to capture their own site traffic.</p>
<p><strong>2.) Short video clips work best</strong></p>
<p>Viral video clips are anything but long and boring. They’re fairly short, in fact. Long videos don’t tend to go viral at all. They’re less likely to keep the attention of the viewer. Work with a video less than 5 minutes long if you want it to have a viral effect.</p>
<p><strong>3.) Don’t sell – share.</strong></p>
<p>Viral videos don’t sell – they share information, tips and insight. Sometimes they simply share humor. Either way, you’ll get the most out of your video creation process if you remember that it’s for the benefit of your customer, and not for the purpose of lining your wallet with green. If that’s a natural side effect, then that’s a bonus for you.</p>
<p>4.) <strong>Get the ball rolling by sharing it yourself</strong>.</p>
<p>A video won’t go viral if no one knows about it. You have to give it a jumpstart and begin sharing it on social networking sites like Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, WordPress Blogs, Squidoo and more – anywhere it can get “found” by interested viewer who will then pass it on to others.</p>
<p>5.) <strong>Focus on your title </strong>(leaked video, for example)</p>
<p>Viral videos often give off the vibe that you shouldn’t be seeing something so (insert your adjective here – shocking, amazing, special, etc.) so you want your title to reflect that. Many video marketers use a title such as “Leaked Video Shows…” to convey the fact that it’s supposed to be top secret, but you’re being let in on a little secret others don’t know.</p>

<p>Many small business entrepreneurs are very excited to have an online presence, but they’re missing the mark when it comes to taking advantage of social networking sites to help brand their name and increase awareness for their products and services.</p>
<p>In an offline store, it’s easier to cultivate a relationship with your customer – as soon as they walk in the door. Assuming you’ve hired amicable sales staff, they’ll be there to put a face to the company name, to extend a handshake and friendly smile, and offer to meet the needs of the customer personally.</p>
<p>The problem with online sales is that it’s set up in a very impersonal way. Even with advanced media technology like audio files, a picture of you as the business owner, or a whole video spiel, the visitor knows the presentation isn’t <em>just</em> for him or her – it’s for anyone and everyone who visits your sales page. And if they have questions, they have to reach out to a help desk or contact form.</p>
<p>You have to branch out from your website and venture into social networking sites. Take advantage of all of the social media available to you. Become a peer to your target audience, and not just some company who’s looking to make a sale off of them.</p>
<p>Even top brand names with an establish fortune in sales and the best team of marketing executives in their pockets are utilizing social networking sites to foster a relationship with consumers.</p>
<p>IBM and Sun MicroSystems have blogs where they build a fan following. Starbucks polls its customers to find out what works and what doesn’t. Burger King made Facebook users sacrifice (delete) 10 friends in exchange for a free whopper – it was a huge hit!</p>
<p>Zappos dominates Twitter by posting neat facts and entering into microblogging 140-character conversations with their customers. Comcast uses Twitter as their customer service help desk of sorts – letting everyone in the timeline see just how responsive and concerned they are to cultivate a good customer service reputation.</p>
<p>Graco invites its customers to submit pictures on the social networking photo site Flickr, which it integrates with their company blog. And Dell? Well Dell does it all – from Facebook to Twitter to blogging.</p>
<p>As a small business owner, you want to look at what methods larger companies are using and employ the same tactics – especially when you can do it without having to shell out a single penny for the same amazing return on your investment of time.</p>
<p>In part two of, “Are You Making the Most of Your Socialization Strategy,” I’m going to give you ten tips that can help you interact with your online audience in a way that sends your news viral, helps you develop an interpersonal relationship with your prospects and customers, and increase your conversion rates dramatically.</p>

<p>You&#8217;ve been using Social Media tools for a while and you&#8217;re starting to run out of ideas. What will you post? Does anyone care that you&#8217;re heading out to eat dinner or going to walk the dog? Probably not, especially if you&#8217;re using these tools to promote your business brand.</p>
<p>Here are some ideas to keep your posts fresh and Tweets interesting and engaging:</p>
<p>•	Quotes that relate to your business brand give you credibility. Posting quotes on topics of value to your target market will also be appreciated. One bonus with quotes is that they&#8217;re often picked up and Re-Tweeted (RT) by Peeps, so you get your name mentioned by someone else as well.</p>
<p>•	When your on Twitter, RT interesting information by other people, but be sure to keep it to a reasonable level. If all you&#8217;re doing is RTing other people&#8217;s ideas it might start to look like you can&#8217;t come up with any of your own. It&#8217;s about maintaining the right balance.</p>
<p>•	Subscribe to RSS Feeds and keep track of what&#8217;s new in the news on topics that would be of value to your followers, clients and potential clients. Post links on recent articles related to these topics.</p>
<p>•	Have fun with your posting. Set up some tweets throughout the day. For example, a Tweet quiz something like this:</p>
<p>Which is more productive? a) focus on the task at hand, b) grab a cup of coffee. If you chose a) you&#8217;re on your way.</p>
<p>Then post another one an hour later, and so on, for the rest of that day. Some can be quirky, like the one above. Others can be more serious, if you prefer.</p>
<p>•	Did you read an interesting blog today? Give your readers the link. If you refer readers to blogs you&#8217;ll often get referrals to your blog…which brings me to the next point…</p>
<p>•	If you have your own blog, post the link to your newest blog posting. Do this several times throughout the week on all your social media networks. Switch it up and keep it fresh by quoting small segments from the blog followed by the link.</p>
<p>•	Do you have some favorite books that other business people would find valuable? Post a list, and continue adding new books with each Tweet or LinkedIn or Facebook post throughout the day.</p>
